Our aim was to introduce Flora of the of the Fells Project and to provide children with an overall picture of some of Cumbria’s landscape, environments and species, A consideration of “wild places and why they are important to us as individuals. Part of the School’s “Cumbria week”
Activities An Introductory FOF talk and questions, Brainstorm session on Cumbria? What makes it special? Workshop on children’s special wild place, sharing round up On site Basic plant and tree Identification, use of simple quadrats (hoops), tree passport, observation points of contrasting habitats, sketching, listening activity, sharing findings. . Time 1 day Funding required: officer time and minimal resources
