Flora of the Fells Festival 2008
Event Guidlines
For all events in the Flora of the Fells Festival, it is your responsibility to bring with you appropriate clothing and sufficient food and drink for the duration of the event. As a rough guide we would recommend you to always bring the following items;
- Waterproof jacket (and trousers if the weather looks bad)
- Sturdy footwear or boots are recommended
- Warm clothing including hat and gloves (please remember the high fells can be much cooler than the valleys)
- Conversely, a sun hat and cream for those glorious days we all hope for!
Even if the event doesn't request you to bring lunch, it is a good idea to bring a snack and something to drink (ideally hot and cold especially on longer events).
Many of our events take place out of doors and entail a certain element of risk. While every opportunity has been taken to ensure your safety on our events, your safety and that of members of your party, remains the responsibility of you alone.Our events are all led by experienced professionals and have been risk assessed where appropriate based on participants of good health.If you have any concerns including any medical conditions that may affect you or a member of your parties enjoyment or the enjoyment of others, it is your responsibility to inform us prior to the event or speak to the leader at the start of the event. This will enable us to make any necessary and appropriate adjustments.
And finally...we hope you have a good time on our events but in the unexpected case that you do not, please let us know either by emailing Ruth Evans, telephone the Friends of the Lake District office on 01539 720788 or write to us at Flora of the Fells Project, Friends of the Lake District, Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road, Kendal, LA9 7SS
