Dr Stuart Burgess is unfortunately unable to deliver the Friends of the Lake District Annual Kirby lecture. Instead the Kirkby Lecture will be given by Dr Jim Cox OBE this year.  Dr Cox is a former rural GP in Caldbeck, Cumbria, Medical Director of Cumbria Ambulance Service and chairman of Royal College of General Practitioners’ Rural Practice Group. He was also chairman of the Northern Fells Rural Project which became the Northern Fells Group, addressing rural social exclusion.

Why not join the afternoon walk at Glencoyne Farm beforehand to see first hand some of the issues being discussed in the lecture. 7pm refreshments. 7.30pm-9pm talk.
