











Alien Invaders Friend or Foe?
Grey squirrels, himalayan balsam and Japanese knotweed? How alien are they? Join Charlotte Widgery of Cumbria Wildlife Trust and Bev Dennison, Alien Species group co-ordinator to find out more about who the alien invaders are, their impacts on native wildlife, if it really matters and what we can do to help?

Venue: Castle Street Community Centre, Castle Street, Kendal. The talk will be held in the detached room which is round the back of the community centre.
Castle Street Community Centre is a three minute walk from Kendal Station.
Directions:
From Windermere go towards Kendal town centre, turn left onto Sandes Avenue heading towards Shap Road & Appleby Rd. At the Railway Station and County Hotel take a right turn onto Wildman Street, turn left just before the bridge onto Castle Street and the centre is about 200 metres on the left.
From Shap Rd and Appleby Rd head to town past the Duke of Cumberland. 400 metres in front of you is Wildman Street. Then follow the instructions above.
From Milnthorpe Rd / Barrow/M6 go towards Kendal town centre. Turn right at first set of traffic lights, turn left at the roundabout (Burton Rd /M6). After about 700 metres turn right onto Parkside Rd (Signposted Sedbergh), turn left at Castle Green Hotel Sign onto Sedbergh Rd, follow the road into Kendal under the railway bridge, after 600 metres turn right onto Anne Street. Turn left onto Wildman Street and follow the above instructions.
From Sedbergh Rd use the Milthorpe directions from the Castle Green Hotel sign.
