Join the Friends of the Lake District for a practical work party at The Helm, Oxenholme. Find out what is being done there and take the opportunity to get involved. The events are hands-on conservation work usually undertaken in small groups. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Skilled supervision and tools are provided (except steel toe capped boots which must be worn for dry stone walling). Please note there are no washing, toilet or other facilities on site. Bring warm clothes, waterproofs, gloves and a packed lunch with drinks and suncream in summer.
